Practice makes perfect
A quote by Stephen King perfectly sums up my feelings:
“If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.”
Hell yes. So basically I’m going to try and churn out a lot of stuff to put on this site, and hope that over time I start to see improvement. I am setting up goals for myself, sort of like exercises in writing. The first one has a few rules:
- Takes place at a party
- Main character isn’t terribly comfortable in social situations like the aforementioned party
- No overarching morals or points to the story other than simply telling the story of a shy guy going to a frat party
That’s what I have. Let’s see where it takes me.
